Fires of the Faithful - Naomi Kritzer A somewhat conventional heroic adventure but competently written & has a unique, mostly well thought-out world-building. There's a religious conflict in which the quasi-Christianity is oppressed one, which imho is a bit uncommon for quasi-medieval-European settings. The protagonist/narrator is also likeable & has an engaging narrative voice.
