The Forty Rules of Love - Elif Shafak Basically a self-help book for "not religious, but spiritual" westerners & a novelized introduction to Rumi. As a self-help book I find it making more sense & much better written than the likes of [b:The Alchemist|865|The Alchemist|Paulo Coelho|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1287827991s/865.jpg|4835472]. As a novel imo it is probably not the best of Elif Shafak, but despite my initial disappointment I do love her lyrical prose in the Rumi & Shams part. OTOH I find the Ella & Aziz part a bit cliched & both characters two-dimensional.
