Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton There are cliches but Michael Crichton did know how to tell an intriguing story. And from the science in it it seems to me that he did put in a lot of effort in research, as AFAIK he did get a lot of stuff right, although I can imagine many others are just his speculation. I'm still not sure how I feel about the semi-New Agey math in it (the population distribution argument is true math though), or how the author stretched a case of poor engineering to his "science out of control" theme.
